On one side of the Danube River are located the Pharmacy Museum, the Historical Museum of Budapest and the Marzipan Museum. The place to go for a walk here is the promenade along the Danube, which is also close to many restaurants. On the other side of the river is the Pest side, where are concentrated the major administrative buildings in the Hungarian capital, which include the Parliament Building.
Here however are also set the Great Synagogue and the St. Stephan Cathedral, as well as the Jewish Museum. Other places that must be included in the sightseeing list include the State Opera House, the Ernst Museum and the Hopp Museum. Another great place to enjoy the atmosphere during your short break is the Margaret island park.
